Man dead after ATV overturns into creek in Laurel County

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – One man is dead after authorities say an ATV reportedly overturned into a creek in Laurel County.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to an ATV crash that occurred nearly 9 miles north of London on Thursday.

Deputies say it was reported an ATV had overturned into a creek, causing serious injuries to the ATV operator.

The victim, identified as 55-year-old Michael Strong of Paris, Kentucky, was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital London. Authorities say he was pronounced dead a short time later by the Laurel County coroner.

Au autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, authorities say.

Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, London-Laurel Rescue Squad and East Bernstadt Fire and Rescue additionally responded to the scene.
