Glasgow man charged with DUI following crash in Metcalfe County

KNOB LICK, Ky. – One man is facing charges after a Metcalfe County crash.

According to a uniform citation, the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched shortly before midnight on Saturday to the intersection of Pleasant Valley Church Road and Ratliff Mitchell Road regarding a crash.

Upon arrival, deputies say they made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Nicholas Quenzer of Glasgow.

Quenzer stated he was driving when another car entered his side of the roadway, authorities say.

Deputies state Quenzer told them he then swerved to avoid the vehicle but overcorrected, causing his vehicle to hit an embankment and roll over.

Authorities say Quenzer stated there were three passengers in the vehicle during the crash.

Deputies say a strong odor of alcoholic beverages was coming from Quenzer.

When asked when he last consumed alcohol, authorities say Quenzer stated it occurred at 8 p.m.

Following field sobriety testing, Quenzer was arrested. According to the uniform citation, Quenzer’s breath test result was .112.

He remains at the Barren County Detention Center on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
