Bowling Green man arrested on Christmas Day after alleged phone wire theft

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is behind bars in Bowling Green after an alleged theft case involving telephone wire.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded around 3:32 a.m. on Christmas Day to a reported theft near the intersection of Blue Level Road and Galloways Mill Road.

Authorities say they were told individuals were seen attempting to steal telephone wire line off of Blue Level Road. Deputies say a community member stated they saw the theft and that the suspects tried to leave the scene.

Justin Hale, 50, of Bowling Green was located in a wooded area near the 4200 block of Galloways Mill Road, deputies say.

Deputies say they also located a small bag of methamphetamine.

Authorities say a witness positively identified Hale as one of the suspects involved in the phone wire theft.

Hale was arrested.

Deputies say a stolen AT&T line was lying next to the road and cut into sections. According to the citation, deputies estimated the value of the line to be between $5,000 and $10,000.

Hale remains at the Warren County Detention Center on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), theft by unlawful taking or disposition all others between $1,000 and $10,000 and first-degree criminal mischief – tamper key infra assets.
