Residents receive holiday joy at Massey Springs Senior Living
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Highland Stables Social Club is spreading holiday cheer.
The group turned its December meeting into a fundraiser so it could make a surprise visit to Massey Springs Senior Living on Tuesday and present the residents with gifts, which included Christmas ornaments and other treats.
Kennedy White, special events coordinator for Highland Stables, says, “When you bought a ticket to the Sparkle Social, it sponsored a senior. So we got all of the 53 residents here sponsored. And so we were able to hand deliver those gifts today.”
The Sparkle Social was an event that raised funds to help support the very gifts handed out today.
Ashleigh Jaggers, activity director at Massey Springs Senior Living, says, “During the holidays, a lot of residents sometimes don’t always get to see their family members. So having outside help come in and visit with our residents and make them feel loved is always something very special to them.”
White says, “My great-grandmother’s actually in the memory facility here. So being able to see her was really nice. And see the people that she gets to spend time with throughout the day. And the workers here, they’re absolutely amazing, super sweet.”
The Highland Stables Social Club is a monthly women’s group that meets at the venue. The members brought some of their children with them to Massey Springs so that the residents there could enjoy their company as well, a meeting of three generations to celebrate the holidays.
