GRAND FORKS, N.D. – WKU women’s basketball (4-6) bounced back with a dominant 80-50 win at North Dakota (1-10) on Sunday evening in Grand Forks.

Trinity Rowe, Torri James, Mya Pratcher, Zsofia Telegdy and Jeniffer Silva were the first five on the court for WKU for the second consecutive game.

Rowe scored the first points of the game on a 3-pointer from the top of the key just 10 seconds into the game. That kickstarted a 11-0 run for WKU to start the game. North Dakota got on the board at the 5:44 mark on a layup, but the Lady Toppers came right back with a pair of free throws. The Fighting Hawks used a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to four, but WKU used a 7-0 run of their own to go back ahead by 11. North Dakota scored the final points of the quarter, bringing the score to 20-11 going into the second quarter.

WKU started the second quarter on another run, this time a 12-0 run to go ahead, 32-11. The Fighting Hawks then knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers to cut it to 15. From there, the game went back-and-forth, and the Lady Toppers took a 39-27 lead into halftime.

North Dakota scored the first four points of the third quarter to get back within single digits, but a 19-0 run from WKU put distance between the two teams and North Dakota was never able to get back within 25.
