Warren County suing opioid manufacturers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Warren County is suing 29 companies involved in the manufacturing, selling and distribution of opioid drugs.

The lawsuit was filed Friday in the United States Federal District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, Bowling Green Division.

According to a news release from the law firm of Hughes and Coleman, the county is suing to collect damages from the companies responsible for an opioid epidemic that has ravaged Warren County.

According to Warren County Judge-Executive Michael Buchanon, if the county receives money from the lawsuit, a large percentage would be used for addiction and recovery programs.
