Glasgow police to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is reminding drivers it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints this month.
According to the department, those checkpoints will last from Dec. 5 through Dec. 31.
Glasgow police say the checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
During the checkpoints, police say they will be enforcing laws related to operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations.
Police say the checkpoints are used throughout Kentucky to help promote highway safety.
