BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police Post 3 located in Bowling Green is reminding drivers it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints.

KSP Post 3 serves several counties, including Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren County.

The agency says some of its measures to ensure safe roadways include traffic safety checkpoints and saturating problematic areas with general patrol tactics.

The Kentucky State Police says it uses these checkpoints to promote safety for drivers and to provide a deterrent to those who violate laws.

The intent of the checkpoints is to provide “for a high visibility, public safety service, focusing on operator impairment, vehicular equipment deficiencies (confirming appropriate registration and insurance of vehicles) and valid licensing of drivers,” according to the agency. Other violations of law and other safety issues will also be addressed.
