Bowling Green man dies following Muhlenberg County crash

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Muhlenberg County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to a fatal collision on U.S.-431 in Central City on Nov. 16 in Muhlenberg County.

Troopers say around 10:57 a.m., Muhlenberg County dispatch contacted KSP Post 2 requesting assistance with the collision near 13478 U.S.-431.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation found a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Benjamin Obannon of Bowling Green was traveling north on U.S.-431 when he left the roadway and struck a culvert.

A passenger in the vehicle, 30-year-old Angelica McGehee of Drakesboro received medical attention at a nearby hospital.

Obannon was flown and later died due to his injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
