Bridge Kentucky celebrates new location

GLASGOW, Ky – Bridge Kentucky celebrated its new location Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Glasgow, marking a major step forward for the nonprofit’s work by supporting the unhoused population in Barren County.

Bridge Kentucky has served the community since 2019. After several years on West Main Street, the organization now resides at a larger building at 1411 North Race St.

The new facility includes eight private rooms, a food and clothing pantry for adults and children, financial assistance programs and a 24-hour warming room during the winter months.

Since opening, Bridge Kentucky has helped more than 200 people get back on their feet. Director Wade Copas said the organization’s mission is simple: be there for people when they need it most.

“We just want to be there for folks — whatever they need in their time,” Copas said. “If we’re able to check something off your list so you don’t have to worry about it, we want to be able to do that for you.”

Copas added that community support is the reason Bridge Kentucky has been able to grow.

“Without the community support, we wouldn’t be able to grow,” he said. “We’ve grown a lot, but we need to grow some more. So we encourage the community to get involved and help us continue in our mission.”

Bridge Kentucky is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
