Metcalfe County Elementary to host annual Fall Festival on Nov. 1
EDMONTON, KY – Fall is in full swing, and Metcalfe County Elementary School is getting ready for one of its most popular traditions: the annual Fall Festival.
This year’s event will feature carnival games, food trucks, live auctions, hayrides and plenty of prizes for families to enjoy.
Last year’s festival drew more than 400 students, staff, and community members, who raised roughly $30,000 through donations and auctions. The celebration has been a school tradition for more than a decade, and organizers say this year’s festival will be bigger than ever.
Fourth-grade teacher Lindsey Glass said the biggest additions this year include an expanded lineup of food trucks and local craft vendors.
“We have at least 12 food trucks lined up, and we want everyone in the community to know they’re welcome to come out,” Glass said. “We also have almost 14 craft vendors who will be set up in the school cafeteria, and we’ll have live music from The Hornet’s Nest Pickers joining us.”
Students are also eager to take part in the fun. Fifth-grader Keith Shive, who was last year’s Fall Festival King, said he’s been attending the event since first grade.
“I like being able to play the games and win prizes,” Shive said. “I’m most looking forward to the crafts, food trucks, and prizes this year.”
The Metcalfe County Elementary Fall Festival will take place Saturday, Nov. 1, at the school.
