Bowling Green getting ready for Scare on the Square
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A favorite trick-or-treat event is back again this year in downtown Bowling Green.
Scare on the Square is back again this year, with all of the favorites at Fountain Square Park. Over the years, Scare on the Square has grown to host thousands of kids and pass out thousands of pieces of candy. But the candy isn’t all the fun, with a live DJ blasting great music and even the zombie dance will be taught and danced right in the middle of town.
This year, though, is a bit different, as a fantastic cause will also be present to help children all over Bowling Green.
“New this year is a kids’ book drive. Justine Hester is an Eagle Scout who is working on a major project, and she’s partnering with us and Toys for Tots to put together a kids book drive for Scare on the Square. Please donate. Gently loved or new kids’ books that are appropriate for elementary school-aged children. And we will be donating those to local elementary schools after the Scare on the Square is over,” said downtown development coordinator Telia Butler.
All the fun kicks off at Fountain Square Park on Oct. 25 starting at 2 p.m. and running until 4 p.m. And of course, don’t forget to wear your costumes.
