BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Drivers traveling through Bowling Green will want to be aware of a fast approaching road closure.

According to transportation officials, a temporary closure will impact Exit 7 U.S. 231 Morgantown Road on Interstate 165 in Bowling Green.

That closure will shut down the on and off ramps in both directions Sunday, Oct. 12 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Monday, Oct. 13 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The bridge will stay open for those using U.S. 231, however, all access ramps to and from I-165 will close.

Drivers on I-165 that need to use Exit 7 should detour to Exit 5 U.S. 68. Signage will be in place.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 says the closure is needed to allow milling and paving work that is part of the double crossover diamond interchange that is being retrofitted to the interchange.

The entire project is expected to be completed in early November.
