Butler County gives out weather radios
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – On Saturday, August 9, Butler County government will be handing out weather radios at the volunteer fire departments around the county.
Butler County is no stranger to inclement weather and has flooded several times over the past couple of years, so to better prepare the community, they went after a grant from the Department of Homeland Security. Butler County Judge-Executive Tim Flener said in light of outdoor warning systems that would cost the small county $4 million, they decided that this would be a fiscally responsible step in the right direction.
