Bowling Green Police urge caution on the road ahead of back to school

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — With a new school year just around the corner, law enforcement in Bowling Green is ramping up efforts to keep students safe.

The Bowling Green Police Department says officers will increase patrols in school zones and around bus stops, especially during pick-up and drop-off times. Sergeant Brad Hogue said some school staff reported heightened anxiety at the end of last school year due to traffic concerns during dismissal.

As both county and city schools prepare to return in the next two weeks, BGPD is reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, and follow traffic laws — or risk getting a citation.

“We’ll be out in full force doing everything we can to keep the public safe,” Hogue said.
