BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green public works is recognizing two of its crew members for honesty and integrity after finding a lost purse.

On Thursday morning, David Webb and John Lyons of public works road maintenance spotted an unusual sight – a purse, contents scattered, in the middle of the intersection at Smallhouse Road and Campbell Lane, according to the city.

The City of Bowling Green says both men did not hesitate and “sprang into action.”

Webb and Lyons gathered the purse’s contents, including cash, credit cards, a passport and more, and tracked down the owner.

Officials say the men were at the owner’s door within 10 minutes and returned her belongings.
