Hart Co. man arrested after allegedly throwing drugs during traffic stop

HORSE CAVE, Ky. – A Hart County man is facing charges after troopers say he threw suspected illegal drugs during a traffic stop.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police saw a motorcycle traveling northbound just before 10:30 p.m. Monday on North Jackson Highway in Horse Cave.

Troopers say they activated their emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop.

During this time, authorities say the operator, later identified as Paul Logsdon, 44, of Hardyville, threw a white object to the side of the road.

Authorities say they made contact with Logsdon and recovered a wadded up cigarette box that contained suspected methamphetamine and pills.

In addition, authorities say Logsdon admitted he possessed marijuana. The citation states Logsdon began yelling and threatening a trooper.

Logsdon was placed into custody and transported to Caverna Medical for a blood draw.

In addition, Logsdon’s motorcycle had tires worn down to the wires and a duct taped mirror, authorities say. He also stated his speedometer does not work, according to the citation.

Logsdon remains at the Hart County Jail and faces charges of speeding 18 miles per hour over the speed limit, no registration plates, no registration receipt, no motorcycle operators license, first-degree disorderly conduct, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (drug unspecified), tampering with physical evidence, no rear view mirror on motorcycle, criminal littering, improper equipment and possession of marijuana.
