MORGANTOWN, Ky. – One man has been arrested after an incident at a Morgantown Dollar General.

According to Morgantown Police Department chief Giles Taylor, officers responded Monday to Dollar General on South Main Street for a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, police say they located Josh Annis, who had reportedly assaulted a male in the store.

Police say they could see injuries on the victim, and witnesses confirmed the assault.

Police say Annis “became combative,” did not follow commands and had to be restrained. Authorities say Annis continued to resist arrest and had to be carried to the cruiser.

While at the jail, police say Annis admitted he had consumed “a large amount of methamphetamine” and confirmed he intentionally assaulted the victim.

Police say Annis made threatening statements toward officers as well. Following medical clearance, Annis was lodged at the detention center.

Annis is charged with fourth-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, harassment, public intoxication and third-degree terroristic threatening.
