Brownsville man charged with burglary, arrested while selling tomatoes

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – A Brownsville man has been charged involving an alleged burglary.
According to a uniform citation, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office received a call from dispatch Monday around 10:30 a.m. for a suspected burglary on Papa Court.
Deputies say the caller stated that 65-year-old David James of Brownsville stole a canopy out of a trailer.
Authorities say they located James off of the intersection of Mammoth Cave Road and Highway 70 while he was selling tomatoes using the canopy that was reported stolen.
James was arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail.
He faces charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.
