BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local building evacuated Thursday morning for reported carbon monoxide detection.

According to Bowling Green Fire Department public information officer Katie McKee, around 10:17 a.m., units were dispatched to Western Kentucky Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Associates for a smell of gas in the building.

McKee says carbon monoxide was detected by crews on scene.

The building has been evacuated, according to McKee.

She says BGFD units are currently still on scene with Med Center EMS.

Graves Gilbert Clinic has shared the following statement:

“Out of an abundance of caution, we have evacuated our WKONA office, including staff, patients, and visitors, due to a mechanical malfunction in the building. We are actively monitoring the situation. All afternoon appointments will be rescheduled. Please stay tuned for further updates and our reopening timeline. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
