Metcalfe student named Washington Youth Tour recipient
EDMONTON, Ky. – For the third year in a row, Metcalfe County High School says one of its students will represent Farmers RECC on its annual Frankfort and Washington Youth Tour.
MCHS junior Addison Morgan is one of four area winners of the annual “Government in Action” Youth Tour. Addison will travel to the state capital in March and the nation’s capital in June.
“Addison is an outstanding student at MCHS, and we are thrilled that she has received this honor,” MCHS principal Joseph Eaton said. “This trip will be a great experience for Addison and another opportunity for Metcalfe County to be well represented in Washington, D.C., and Frankfort.”
The district says Kentucky is among 45 states that will send youth delegations to the annual youth tour.
While there, students will visit the U.S. congressional members, participate in energy and grassroots government education sessions and go sightseeing in Washington, D.C.
Eaton said, “We want to thank Farmers RECC for providing this opportunity, and we are proud that a student from MCHS has been selected for the last three years. I look forward to hearing from Addison when she returns. Our Hornets are always hustling, and Addison is no exception.”
Addison is joining four other regional award recipients, including Katherynn Dooley of Cave City, Mary Claire Warren of Glasgow and Braydon Thompson of Munfordville.
