Warren County buys property in downtown Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In fiscal court on Thursday, Warren County officially approved the purchase of a property in downtown Bowling Green.

1007 State St. was purchased by Warren County for a little over $1.4 million. The building, formerly belonging to Charles M. Moore Insurance, was purchased to give Warren County near complete over that city block. The building, which is situated next to the building, which was the former home to Kerrick Bachert Attorneys at Law and Rand Paul’s Bowling Green office before being burned down, offers Warren County a great opportunity to plan for the future.

“The only piece of property on the block we didn’t own was this former Charles Moore Insurance Building has been there for a while and we took a look at that and we decided to purchase that The Magistrates and Fiscal Court started look at if we were going to make an investment in that block for the future, for the next 60 to 80 years, it helps us to own that property as well,” said Warren County judge-executive Doug Gorman.

No plan has been decided on in terms of what that site will become, however, discussions are taking place to determine how they can use that site to best serve the residents of Warren County.
