10th annual ‘Hometown Harvest Dinner’ hosted by the Franklin-Simpson Farmers Market

FRANKLIN, Ky. – The Franklin-Simpson Farmers Market hosted its 10th annual Hometown Harvest Dinner at ‘The Barn at Bethel Grove’ on Friday night. 

Tickets to the sold-out event were $55 apiece.

Attendees enjoyed a meal featuring locally produced food, participated in an auction of local merchandise, and listened to live music.

Organizers noted that the event has grown over the past decade and is now expected to make nearly $6,000 this year.

Franklin-Simpson Farmers Market advisor Jason Phillips spoke on the importance of events in highlighting the need to support local businesses.

“What I want people to gain when they leave here is they want to have a good, enjoyable Friday night and feel good about supporting local food products and also raise money for the market,” Phillips said. “We’re trying to boost all our local producers’ sales in that way.”

All proceeds from the event go toward the Franklin-Simpson Farmers Market. 

Organizers say the Hometown Harvest Dinner would not be possible without its sponsors and the support of the Simpson County community.
