Glasgow police conducting traffic safety checkpoints in December

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is announcing it will conduct traffic safety checkpoints starting Wednesday through the end of December.

Police say the checkpoints serve as a way to promote safety and enforce laws.

The Traffic Safety Checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.

Officers will be at the checkpoints enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance violations, seat belt and child restraint violations, and motor vehicle equipment violations.
