Warren Co. to receive $43,230 in tobacco settlement funds

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Warren County is set to receive $43,230 in tobacco settlement funds from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund.

This is according to a report provided to Rep. Shawn McPherson and other lawmakers at the November meeting of the legislature’s Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight Committee.

“I am pleased to announce that Warren County has been approved for $43,230 from the KADF,” McPherson said. “I would like to thank the KADB for approving these funds, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact the funds will have on Legacy Mobile Veterinary Services’ work.”

According to a release by the Kentucky House Majority Caucus, the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board approved multi-county funding to be used to provide up to $7,205 for Legacy Mobile Veterinary Services, while up to $36,025 in state funds may be used to purchase X-ray equipment, a generator and an ultrasound machine as part of the Large and Food Animal Veterinary Incentives Program.

The release states this funding is sourced from the Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement Fund, the result of the 1998 Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement between four major tobacco product manufacturers and 46 states.
