Grayson County Sheriff searching for person of interest in home invasion robbery

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a person of interest in a home invasion robbery on early Monday morning.
Sheriff Norm Chaffins says the office received a phone call from a woman in duress who stated someone had broken into her home. The woman says the individual pointed a long gun at her and demanded money.
The woman says the man then told her to go into her child’s bedroom.
The man then left the residence with the woman’s purse and left the scene in an unknown vehicle.
The woman described the person as a white male, approximately 6’0″ tall, and stocky, medium build. The man was wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, and a mask.
Sheriff Chaffins says the person of interest may have had an encounter before the incident.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office says the public should not approach the person of interest and those with information on the person of interest to call (270) 259-3024.
The office is also asking residence of the 3000-4000 block of Shrewsbury Road to provide any surveillance footage that shows KY-187 at 1:40 am on Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.
