Scottsville K9 Officer Nova moves to Gainesboro, TN
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Scottsville Police Department had to let go one of their own recently, but she quickly found a new home.
K9 Officer Nova, who has been with Scottsville PD much of her life but recently moved stations and states after her previous handler went on to the Kentucky State Police. Small scale SPD then told the world they would be accepting bids on her thereafter which generated some controversy online in the local community.
Today, News 40 visited On Point K9 to see Nova do some training with her new department and see her off as well as ask some questions.
Gainesboro Police Department Chief Mickey Smith said as newly promoted chief, his goal was to bring a K9 unit to the department due to it’s proximity to I-40 and I-65. K9 trainer Jason Hanley who owns On Point, told us that the conclusions of social media were inaccurate and the department would not allow Nova to fall into just anyone’s home given some more insight.
