Allen County man receives federal prison sentence for tax evasion

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An Allen County man is sentenced for tax evasion.

The Western District of Kentucky says John Paul Cates, 50, has received a 15-month sentence, followed by three years of supervised release, for tax evasion.

An IRS investigation found Cates evaded employment taxes due and owing by Trinity Steel Works, LLC. The corporation is located in Scottsville.

Cates is ordered to pay $811,312.14 in restitution.

No parole is granted in the federal prison system.
