Halloween safety tips from Med Center EMS

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Spooky season is here, and Med Center EMS offered some tips today on being safe while taking part in the festivities.

EMS field supervisor Stephen Parrott told News 40 that when it come to carving pumpkins, children should always have adult supervision, and everyone should always make sure they are cutting away from their body to avoid injury.

Parrott also said to be vigilant when crossing the street and if you’re hanging decorations, try to have someone with you in case you fall.

Many large neighborhoods block off traffic, so Halloween isn’t a very busy day for EMS, Parrott said.

The supervisor also advocated for sticking to areas that you know and always check your kids candy for open packages.
