“Supermoon” is the term that describes a full moon closer to Earth than normal. During a supermoon event, the orb may appear 8% larger and 16% brighter than an average full moon.
The Hunter’s moon is the first full moon after the Autumnal Equinox. The lunar event marks the changing of the seasons. October’s hunter’s moon is the closest of the year and it’s in the sky now through Thursday night. According to NASA, it will be at its fullest Thursday morning. The beaver moon on November 15 will be the fourth and final supermoon of the year.
