Local woman celebrates 100th birthday!
WARREN COUNTY, KY.- This weekend was a special one for one young lady of the Gott community in Warren County.
Ivory Meeks, born in 1924 celebrated her birthday this Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Gott Community Center surrounded by hundreds of people, all family and friends.
Miss Meeks is one of eight children, a mother to five, and a grandmother of 14. The centenarian told News 40 gave some advice for the youngsters out there, saying, “live every day to the fullest. Honor yourself and respect others. Treat them as individuals. They have a right to their opinion as you have a right to yours.”
Miss Meeks credits her many years to her faith and respecting her parents as prompted by the Bible she said she was not expecting so many people to show up for her party and that she was completely in shock.
