BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man has pleaded guilty in a case involving the death of a man in Bowling Green last year.

According to court records, Sean Birge, 30, of Bowling Green entered a guilty plea on Oct. 1 in Warren Circuit Court to charges of murder, second-degree arson, abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence.

In February 2023, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to assist with a fire on the 600 block of Penns Chapel Road.

Police say upon arrival, they found the house fully engulfed. After the fire was extinguished, police say fire personnel found Wendell Leon Reynolds Jr. dead at the scene.

News 40 previously reported an investigation led authorities to Clarksville, Tennessee, where they met with Birge on February 23, 2023.

Officials said at that time that Birge provided details and confessed to murdering Reynolds during the interview.
