Man accused of kidnapping, pistol whipping and drug sales
A Scottsville couple has been jailed following a reported assault.
38-year-old Jason Calvert is charged with multiple felonies after a woman reported that he pistol whipped her.
Five other people said he ordered them at gunpoint to stay inside of a Scottsville home.
Following the reported September 23 assault on Sara Tracy, authorities executed a search warrant on Tuesday.
The search was at the home of Jason Calvert and his wife Tanesha Calvert, according to his arrest citations.
During that search law enforcement officers said they found drugs, guns and cash.
Authorities said they found over 310 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $31,000.
They also discovered handguns, digital scales and over $4,000 in cash inside the couple’s home, according to Calvert’s citation.
Jason Calvert is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
He’s also charged with five counts of kidnapping, second-degree assault, and other charges.
His wife Tanesha is charged with 2nd-degree assault in the same investigation.
During the assault, police say Kyle repeatedly hit the victim Sara Tracy with a pistol as Tanesha held her.
Kyle is also accused of putting the pistol in Tracy’s mouth and verbally threatening to kill her.
Both are currently lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
Barren River Drug Task Force Director Ron Lafferty had this to say about the investigation.
"People like this who have this amount, it’s more than an addiction. There’s obviously a dealer, they’re obviously into it for monetary gain."
Lafferty says, "They are feeding off the addiction of others to make their life better, and that is what I’m totally against."
Both Jason and Tanesha remain lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
