Tractor-trailer hauling poultry catches fire

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – Multiple agencies responded early Sunday morning to a tractor-trailer fire in Butler County.

The Fourth District Fire Department says at 5:52 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to mile marker 24 northbound on Interstate 165 for a tractor-trailer fire.

Upon arrival, the department says both lanes were shut down.

A fire had fully engulfed the trailer, which was hauling chicken and turkey, fire officials say.

Morgantown, Fourth District, Fifth District and Rochester fire departments assisted with lines to extinguish the fire.

Units remained on scene until 11:20 a.m.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office, emergency management and the Morgantown Police Department also assisted at the scene.
