Hart County Search & Rescue to host training efforts in August

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – The Hart County Search and Rescue Squad is hosting some training efforts to help surrounding agencies be ready for anything.

Normally, they work a lot with Barren County Search and Rescue to help people in need.

At the end of August, they’ll be hosting a training in Cave City to make sure everyone in the area is prepared for any situation like the one they faced recently.

After rescuing a person stuck in a cave, they hope this training helps them make sure they’re prepared when out on a rescue.

“The trainings that we do, it helps make sure that all the squad members know what they’re doing… to make sure that everything is safe and we can get to the patient and get them out in one piece,” Christian Reynolds says.

The training is set to take place on August 24th & 25th in Cave City… but Search and Rescue Squad members urge you to be safe when exploring caves by taking at least 2 sources of light with you.

If you happen to be on the water, ALWAYS have a life jacket.
