Law enforcement helps T.J. Regional Health prepare for emergency situation
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Sheriff’s Office along with the Glasgow Police Department assisted T.J. Regional Health with their annual active shooter training, who said the evening was beneficial and positive for the hospital.
The training was realistic, the sheriff’s office allowed News 40 to gather some limited imagery from the evening. The officers used blank rounds and orchestrated an emergency situation to test both response time for law enforcement and staff’s ability to evade and correctly navigate a dangerous situation.
Over 100 T.J. employees came out July 9th to receive training on a very serious topic to which Compliance Officer, Risk Manager and Director of Security John Thomas Rogers said he was happy to see. Rogers said safety is paramount at T.J. and it’s important to go through various scenarios a year.
Barren County Sheriff Kent Keen told News 40 that law enforcement prepares for the unexpected all the time and that they were honored to put on the program to further support the community.
