NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet to honor scholarship recipient
RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will hold their 44th annual Freedom Fund Banquet on June 8th.
Founded in 1909, the NAACP advocates for minorities to be treated equally in education or politics, to end racial discrimination. Russellville-Logan County inducts students yearly to receive support through the program.
Treyvonn Rashard Stevenson from Russellville High School has been selected as the 2024 NAACP Scholarship recipient. County judge executive Phil Baker will be the guest speaker at the event.
The Freedom Fund Banquet at the Russellville Memorial City/County Park will begin at 6 p.m.
Admission will be $20 for adults and $10 for attendees under 18 years old. A variety of drinks and food will be provided for guests.
