Bowling Green Municipal Utilities employees raise funding with Duck Derby

BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Every year, Bowling Green Municipal Utilities’ electric water and fiber divisions come together to race and celebrate the Kentucky Derby with their annual Duck Derby event.

Gathering and getting to know your colleagues not only increases the morale within the company, it also inspires BGMU to open up the race to the community to enjoy this annual celebration.

The event also raises money for water.org, which aims to help provide safe water.

We sat down with Shelley Lowe, the marketing coordinator at BGMU. She says, “We do hope to make the event a little bit bigger in the years to come and invite the public, so that’s just a great way for many of our employees to get to know each other, especially if we typically don’t work with others from other divisions.”

The top winner this year was Courtney Logan, a new member of the BGMU, and next year you could be a part of all the fun.
