The Game at a Glance

Hilltopper Basketball (19-7, 8-4) travels to Murfreesboro for its second matchup with Middle Tennessee in 2023-24. The game will mark the 146th all-time meeting between the programs, with the historic rivalry serving as the third-most played series in Hilltopper Basketball history. A win would give WKU a 20th victory on the season for the 48th time in the program’s history – a mark only six other programs in the nation have achieved. The Hilltoppers hold a 99-46 all-time advantage facing MTSU in a series dating back to 1914.

Seeking a sixth straight win on Saturday, WKU’s back-to-back home wins last week improved the Tops to 12-1 at home in Diddle Arena this season. Junior guard Don McHenry currently stands as the third-leading scorer in CUSA at 16.1 PPG. McHenry earned a second CUSA Player of the Week nod on Feb. 12 following a 2-0 road swing by the Tops that saw victories over CUSA leader LA Tech and Jax State. The pair of road wins marked the first time this season a CUSA team has secured consecutive conference victories on the road.

Freshman Teagan Moore enters the week having earned CUSA Freshman of the Week honors on Monday after helping WKU to its unbeaten 2-0 mark at home last week. Moore posted a season-high 16 points off 5-for-7 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line in Thursday’s 90-80 win over UTEP, then followed the performance with a team-high 12 points off 4-for-7 shooting and 3-of-3 from the stripe in a 72-58 win over New Mexico State on Saturday.
