Code Red alert at Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society has over 112 dogs available for adoption.
Recently the shelter has seen an influx of large dogs that are often more difficult for the shelter to take care of due to how easily they can become crowded in the Kennels. To combat this the shelter is offering a reduced adoption fee through Sunday at 4 p.m.
Katie Holmes, marketing director at the Humane Society, says that it hasn’t been this full in a long time.
“We’ve seen a huge surge that we don’t usually see in February. And that’s why we’re reaching out and saying, hey, we’re doing these $25 code around adoptions because we need them. Otherwise the situation will get dire for the first time in many years, you know, just for space,” Holmes said.
The adoption drives come just in time for Valentines Day, meaning people in the community can come and find their own valentine whether or not they already have one.
