Winter weather fun on Hospital Hill
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – People flocked to Hospital Hill to get in some snow sledding as the snow fell throughout the day.
Many people didn’t have work on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Western Kentucky University canceled classes tomorrow, and children already out of school took the time to head to the hill and play in the snow.
One such individual, Barrett Lamb, took time today to hang out with friends and to get in some sledding.
“I wanted to spend time with my friends. they’re right there. They pulled me out of my room. you know. I have gone twice, and I got tackled by a dog while sledding,” Lamb said.
The dog in question, a young Golden-Doodle named Turtle, seemed to believe that the day was all about them, running up and down the hill and pulling their friends down the hill when they least expected it, all in good fun. This culminated with Turtle taking a trip down the slope on a sled with their owner, Turtle did not look pleased.
Other patrons, like Amerilee Lowe, took the time to walk to the hill in order to get some sledding in.
“The snow. I just love the snow. Just like, my favorite thing to do is just come sledding,” Lowe said.
The walkability of the neighborhood surrounding Hospital Hill made it easy for many people to get outside since they didn’t have to take any risks driving, Lowe is one of those people.
“I’ve lived in Kentucky my whole life, so it’s like every year I just always look forward to it. but now that I live here, it’s really awesome to be able to walk, like, and just come to this hill,” Lowe said.
