Montessori School of Bowling Green Christmas Caroling
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Students and teachers from the Montessori School of Bowling Green traveled around downtown today to spread some Christmas cheer at local businesses including WNKY’s office.
This was part of what teacher Michelle Brown says is a 15 year long tradition that the school takes part in.
“Every year we have our kindergartners and we practice and sing songs and we just pop into businesses around town on the square and just sing to them and pass out candy canes.” Brown said.
For students they get to have a day on the town, get some lunch from Mellow Mushroom and they get to spread a little of the joy of the season to many adults in the community. Bennet Owen said the day was fun and that he most enjoyed the pizza he was given at Mellow Mushroom.
The students made their way through Fountain Square Park to Back Down South, Owner Kristen Robinette who has a child at the school said she loves the tradition and loves being able to host the children at her business. During their visit Santa showed up to the surprise of the shop owner and children alike.
“No, I had no idea Santa was coming. I mean, the biggest surprise I mean, I think all the kids were so surprised to know. Big shock.” Robinette said.
