Caveland North Pole light show
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Tony Esters has kept up his yearly tradition of completely lighting up his roughly three acre property and home with Christmas lights. The tradition started a few years ago as a way to bring some Christmas spirit to the area.
“Three years ago we decided to do a drive thru. We’ve had the driveway, but just having it open for people drive through. Actually, people started driving through without us, even had everything open,” Ester said.
The free light show is available shortly after Halloween all the way through the first of the year and families come from all over to see the lights.
“There was a car of elderly women come through a while ago and they couldn’t look any happier than the kids do. So it was it’s worth it to see the smile on their faces,” Ester said.
Santa also known as John Buckingham is even in attendance for the children along with Mrs. Claus to add to the occasion. The whole thing is for the kids that live inside of all of us he says.
“This is for the kids. Everything from little kids all the way up to big kids. Even the bigger kids are as they like to call themselves adults. Enjoy the lights. But what makes it all worthwhile is to see a smile on a child’s face,” Buckingham said.
