The TJ Samson Community Mission Foundation Hometown Showdown
GLASGOW, Ky.- On Oct. 14, the City of Glasgow is in for a treat, because the TJ Samson Community Mission Foundation is putting on a Hometown Showdown Lip Sync Battle.
Teams facing off are Extreme Health Club versus the YMCA, Glasgow High School faculty and staff versus Barren County High School faculty and staff, T.J. Health Therapy and Rehabilitation Department against T.J. Nursing Department, South Central Bank against Edmonton State Bank, and Glasgow Police Department versus the Glasgow Fire Department
The Executive Director Randy Burns shares the importance of having all these groups from the Glasgow community is to unite the people of Glasgow. “We do a lot of community engagement projects to help live out our goal and our mission of building healthier communities in South Central Kentucky.”
The day of the lip sync battle the goal will definitely be met, especially with the tough and hardworking competition.
Sergeant Nick Swayne with the Glasgow Fire department says, “We are probably 3000 percent better than they are and that number probably tripled in the last week and a half. We been putting in a lot of time and effort into our secret weapon, so yeah I’m not going to indulge what we going to be doing. your just going to have to come out and see it.
The police department is also feeling very confident and if you couldn’t feel the heat before you can definetely feel it now..
Captain Ashley jones of the Glasgow police department says, “People are probably expecting us to have some police songs. I thought that was a little bit to cliche. we got a wide genre of songs from the 80’s 90’s to the current decade so people are going to be i think there going to be surprised but there going to have fun watching us.”
