KSP to receive fentanyl response kits

Kentucky State Police troopers have some new tools to protect themselves from the drug, fentanyl.

KSP has announced the purchase of fentanyl response kits. Through grant money, troopers throughout the Commonwealth will now be equipped with Tyvek suits, respirator masks, fentanyl protective gloves, safety glasses and a portable gear bag.

Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration for pain relief and use as an anesthetic. It is approximately 100 times more potent than morphine and 50 times more potent than heroin.
