Barren County man accused of vehicle thefts

A man accused of stealing not one, but two cars in the same night, and then fleeing from police has been locked up.

According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Brian Parnell, 26, stole the two vehicles on Wednesday. Deputies tracked him down in one of the stolen vehicles on peninsula road. Deputies say they attempted to make a traffic stop, but Parnell kept going.

Deputies say Parnell eventually lost control and fled on foot. This morning, deputies located Parnell, who is a resident of horse cave.

He’s charged with auto theft for each of the stolen vehicles, fleeing or evading police, and unlawful endangerment. Tonight, he remains in the Barren County Jail.
