2 arrested on drug charges with infant present

CAVE CITY, Ky. – Cave City police say two people are facing several charges after they received a call about a domestic dispute at the Holiday Motel.

Once officers from the Cave City Police Department arrived, they found Julie Ellis, 33, and Benjamin Cullen, 47, inside, along with an infant.

After getting permission to search the room, police say they found a glass meth pipe and other drug paraphernalia.

Cave City police arrested both Ellis and Cullen.

Officers say that while in custody, Ellis tried to swallow a paper towel that contained suspected methamphetamine.

Ellis and Cullen are currently in the Barren County Detention Center.

Ellis was charged with fourth-degree assault (minor injury), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, endangering the welfare of a minor and first-degree promoting contraband.

Cullen was charged with fourth-degree assault (no visible injury), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and endangering the welfare of a minor.
