Bowling Green hosts 73rd U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Monday, June 18th, kicked off the 73rd U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship here in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Championship is being played at The Club at Olde Stone. This is the first time the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship has been hosted in Kentucky.

The average age of the 156 competitors is 16 and a half years old.

Girls from all across the world traveled to Bowling Green to participate in this Championship. There are currently 14 countries represented along with 32 states.

The biggest storyline closest to home is Sydney Hackett. Hackett is currently on track to be the highest recruit for Western Kentucky Women’s Golf.

Hackett is currently ranked 48th by the Junior Golf Scoreboard, 47th by Golfweek, and won the Lanto Junior Championship in June.
