Gubernatorial hopeful, Robert Goforth, visits Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-The man hoping to beat Gov. Matt Bevin in Tuesday’s Republican Gubernatorial Primary made a campaign stop in Bowling Green Thursday afternoon.
State Rep. Robert Goforth held a meet and greet at Fountain Square Park in downtown Bowling Green.
Goforth, a Republican from Laurel County, says the people of Kentucky are fed up with Gov. Bevin.
He’s one of three Republicans to challenge the sitting governor. The other two are William Woods and Ike Lawrence.
Goforth has spent nearly $1 million of his own money on his campaign.
During the meet and greet, he explained what makes him different than Kentucky’s current governor.
“Beyond the insults, and the arrogance and how he treats people, we differ on a lot of policy differences,” said Goforth. “He says he’s a fiscal conservative, yet he gives his old Army buddy almost triple salary than what the job’s worth.”
Goforth’s running mate is Mike Hogan, a prosecutor in Lawrence County.
