Tyson Foods breaks ground in Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tyson Foods, one of the world’s leading protein companies, broke ground Wednesday on its new 400,000 square foot facility in the Kentucky Transpark. This new bacon production facility is a $355 million investment.
Governor Andy Beshear said, “This is thrilling. This is the single largest investment in Bowling Green in Warren County ever.”
Tyson Foods Group president of prepared foods Noelle O’Mara explained they chose Bowling Green because, “We did an extensive search, and very quickly Bowling Green rose to the top based on the growth of the community, the impressive school systems and the way that you take care of people in this local community.”
The transpark will produce Jimmy Dean Products and Wright Brand Bacon.
Tyson Foods will create 451 new jobs that pay an average of $28 per hour plus benefits.
Governor Beshear believes the Transpark is only warming up.
“This transpark here in Bowling Green is on fire,” said Beshear. “There are at least a half dozen other companies that I’m talking to on a regular basis that are looking at Bowling Green. Many of them are looking at this park, itself.”
Tyson Foods Bowling Green expansion’s economic impact is expected to exceed $2.7 billion dollars over the next 10 years.
